Catholic ecclesiology is the theological study of the Catholic Church, its nature and organisation, as described in revelation or in philosophy. Such study shows a progressive development over time. Here the focus is on the time leading into and since the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965).

In Christian theology, the Christian Church is traditionally divided into:

the Church Militant (Latin: Ecclesia militans), which consists of Christians on earth who struggle as soldiers of Christ against sin, the devil, and “the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places”;
the Church Penitent (Latin: Ecclesia poenitens), also called the Church Suffering (Latin: Ecclesia dolens) or the Church Expectant (Latin: Ecclesia expectans), which in the theology of certain churches, especially that of the Catholic Church, consists of those Christians currently in Purgatory; and
the Church Triumphant (Latin: Ecclesia triumphans), which consists of those who have the beatific vision and are in Heaven.

These divisions are known as the three states of the Church, especially within Catholic ecclesiology. These divisions are often discussed in the context of the doctrine of the communion of saints; although Christians may be physically separated from each other by the barrier of death, they nonetheless remain united to each other in one Church, and support each other in prayer.

The Church Triumphant
The term triumphant (Latin: triumphans), means “exulting, rejoicing exceedingly”, taken from a figurative usage of triumphus, originally designating the Roman triumph. Those who constitute the Church Triumphant rejoice eternally in the glory of God, to whom they are united in the beatific vision.

The Church Suffering

The term penitent (Latin: poenitens or paenitens means “repenting, being sorry”. Those who constitute the Church Penitent are in Purgatory to satisfy whatever portion of the temporal punishment due for their sins was not satisfied before death. They are in a process of purging their imperfections before entering heaven. It is held that all members of the Church Penitent will eventually join the Church Triumphant.

The alternate term suffering (Latin: dolens, lit. ‘grieving’) emphasizes the nature of souls’ experience in Purgatory; they are suffering the temporal consequences of their sins to redemptive effect. The other alternative, expectant (Latin: expectans or exspectans), emphasizes that the souls of Purgatory are awaiting expectantly the beatific vision of heaven.

The Church Militant

The term militant (Latin: militans) has a primary meaning of “being a soldier, performing military service”, but it acquired a secondary meaning of “serving, performing service, laboring”, with its root milito coming to mean “soldier of Christ or God” in Medieval Latin usage. The members of the Church Militant, i.e. those Christians on earth, are engaged in spiritual warfare against sin in order that, when they die, they might enter heaven and join the Church Triumphant. Failing that directly, those who believe in the existence of Purgatory hope to die in a state of grace and join the Church Penitent, to purify themselves of their imperfections and, ultimately, join the Church Triumphant.

The Catholic Church commemorates the Church Triumphant and the Church Penitent in its liturgy on two consecutive days: All Saints’ Day on November 1 (the Church Triumphant) and All Souls’ Day on November 2 (the Church Penitent).

These terms are not used in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, an authoritative summary of the teaching of the Catholic Church published in 1994. However, the teaching these terms represent is precisely restated, quoting Lumen gentium:

The three states of the Church. “When the Lord comes in glory, and all his angels with him, death will be no more and all things will be subject to him. But at the present time some of his disciples are pilgrims on earth. Others have died and are being purified, while still others are in glory, contemplating ‘in full light, God himself triune and one, exactly as he is’.”

Lumen Gentium

The lesson taught me unknown and interesting knowledge. My knowledge has once again expanded. The Church Suffering is the one that awakened my faith. It is a place for repenting sins. A place for a second chance, to return once again to our “Creator”.

It was interesting to learn about the Catholic ecclesiology especially about the spheres of angels and the seven angels with different roles. To be honest, the only names I know were Angel Michael, Angel Gabriel, and Angel Raphael but thanks to Sir Karl he mentioned the seven names of the angels. I was also interested about their names because it corresponds to the name of the days. We also discussed about the Church Triumphant which is the heaven, purgatory being the Church Suffering, and the Church Militants.

During this discussion, I’ve realized that all of us will go to the Kingdom of God and just as promised we will all go back to the hands of our creator because it is our destiny. What I love about this is that even if you’re a good person and you didn’t do anything wrong there’s still a chance that you might not go to heaven just like Adam and Moises. Adam didn’t do anything wrong except that he’s tempted by Eve to eat the forbidden fruit while on the other hand Moises was just instructed to tap the cane once but he did it twice the consequences of their actions made them wait a thousand years just to enter the gate of heaven. I realized that as long as we exist, we can have the chance and the time to correct our mistakes and do less of the bad things so that when the times comes, we can all go to heaven and be at peace with our creator.

These past few days specifically in Wednesday, I’ve learn a lot about Catholic Ecclesiology. I get shocked when I heard about Church Suffering and Purgatory. I felt a little bit of scared because I did not expect that Purgatory is true. I’ve learn that Christian Chruch is divided into three, Church Militant, Church Penitent, Church Triumphant. Church Militant are the people on the earth who pray against the darkness and also pray for the Christians who suffer in Purgatory. Church Penitent are the christians who currently in purgatory. Church Triumphant are those who are in heaven. The part of the lesson that awakened my faith as Christian is about Church Penitent that is also called Church Suffering. Each of us should pray for everyone’s goodness, specially are those Christians who suffer in Purgatory.

Frankly, I never took interest to talk about angels, because I always saw myself focus only to the work of God. I am fascinated, in surprise, how important the work of angels, as well. For they are also the tool to guide us into this world, protected. I am honored to have sir Karl, my teacher, that enlightened me to this new experience and knowledge that I can remember always. One thing that caught my attention is the archangels, and I was excited to know who my guardian angel is. It is fun to know a teacher discuss this rare and raw topics in our generation.

After the discussion about the Catholic Ecclesiology i was amazed about the information that i heard because it was the first time that someone are being true on what’s in the bible. I feel excited on knowing the three Christian Church in heaven the Chruch Triumphant, Church suffering and the Church militant. When i was a little girl i always wondering what heaven looks like and now when ou CLE teacher told us what is heaven i was enlightened by the things that i didd not know about the heaven. It also nice to know tge diffenrent angels watching over us , I remember when i was little girl i talked to my angel specially when i did something wrong but i still do it now, Because in the first place i really do believed in angels they are the one who guide and protect us from the demons.

What really awakened my faith is the fact that the Lord, even if we are sinners and are not worthy of his forgiveness, He always forgives us and give us chance to cleanse our own selves. The church triumphant made my faith stronger. Having that goal to enter the gate of heaven, and be a part of the Church Triumphant is something that I’m proud of, for that just means I am willing to change myself for the better. Everyone of us wanted to be in the glory of God but not everyone knows where to start. That’s why, I am thankful that we get to have a class that tackles this kind of topic because our minds are being open. For me, I always see to it that at the end of the day, I get to put the lesson to my mind and think about it for me to improve myself. Before, having a friend who always think that their religion is the right religion, it was hard what to believe in anymore because he throws statements that I don’t know where it came from. So we get confused with everything. That’s why, after the discussion, I am now enlightened. I get to answer his questions that put me to thinking. With that, I get to strengthen my faith, not just to the church, but for the Lord as well. (Marin, Annavien T., ABM-1804)

I am enlightened when our professor discussed that the Kingdom of God is divided into 3 spheres and also tha communion of saints. As a child I only knew that there are angels but I didn’t know that there are different types of angels. I realized in our discussion that there are different kinds of angels and each of them has different roles to play. And that there is a state where our souls stay and undergo the process of purification. I realized that our God is really kind and merciful. I have a God that is forgiving. In our CLE discussion it has answered my confusion on why Catholics pray to saints. Our professor explained that saints brings us closer to God. We ask for their help to also pray for us because they are much closer to God, so it would be easier for us to connect with God. After the discussion my faith to God became stronger. It strengthen my faith to God because I became enlightened with the truth.

Last wednesday, sir Karl discussed about the catholic ecclesiology. I was amazed and surprised by the topic because at first, i didn’t know that the purgatory really existed and that it was all made up. I was awakened when sir Karl told us that Moses and Adan waited for a long period of time just to enter the gates of heaven because of the disobedience that they have done. We need to remember to do good all the time and to not forget to thank God for forgiving our sins and for giving us blessings in our life.

Catholic Ecclessiology is the theological study of the Catholic Church. Because of our discussion last Thursday, i have been enlightened about the Angels and Demons. The lesson was actually awakened my faith as a christian who doesn’t believe in heaven or hell, because of our lesson i am now aware and have some knowledge about heaven, hell, angels and demons. I also realized that having faith and prayer is a powerful weapon, fhe lesson about Angels and demons really amazed me. Before, i don’t believe that Angels do exist but after Sir Karlo discussed about it, i was enlightened and now i do believe that there are Angels who are guiding and protecting us for our daily lives.

In this lesson, it makes my perspective changed that there is no such hell. I’ve learned that a person will be judged if he/she is worthy enough to go in Church of Triumphant wherein Spheres with Jesus Christ in the center is in there, when not he/she will be cleanse his/her sins he committedthrough purgatory and will stay on Church of Suffering and after that he/she is already qualified to enter the church of triumphant.

While we’re living on earth, we should value the life that given to us. So when the right time came, we could go back to our creator and have a peace together with Him.
In addition, I’ve learned that different religion is because of wronh practices of beliefs. We’ve only one God with 3 persona— the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

I was astounded when I heared about our discussion in the Catholic Ecclesiology because of the reason that I didn’t have much knowledge about it and it caught my attention to listen to the given lesson. In this lesson I became more interested, to listen more about God and other Catholic teachings. I also find fascinating about the Church Triumphant that it has three spheres of Angels and the Communion of Saints before we the Church Militant leave. That the Church of Suffering will let us go through the gate of Heaven. In this lesson, my faith and trust in God got much stronger more than the past years after I heard about the Angels of God. Now, I believe more to our Angels that we truly have our own Guardian Angel based upon our birth that will decide to let us enter to the Kingdom of God. For me, an act of prayer is the most powerful in everything and to have a communication with the Angels and with God.

Last monday, The discussion is about the angels, the 3 spheres and 3 states of the church. There are many types of angels and each angels have a task to do. and I learned that we cant get in to the gate of Heaven until we didnt reach our enlightenment, I also learn that even though your a thousand years dead as long as you dont reach the enlightenment you cant get inside in heaven.

I learned about the previous discussion was prayer is important because it helps us to be closer to God. It is also our way to show our adoration to God, to thank Him for the blessings we have everyday, to confess our sins and ask forgiveness, and to ask for His guidance and blessing everyday.

I also learned that all of us is destined to be with our creator. But just like i said we need to reach our enlightenment first so we can join the Kingdom of Heaven.

In our past lesson, Sir Karlo discussed that Christian church is divided into 3 states before a person can go to the kingdom of God. Actually,  I don’t have any idea about what Catholic Ecclesiology is.

Everyone of us especially those who have different religions have a distinct beliefs and I have different perspective towards Hell and Heaven. Before, I thought that when a sinner person died he/she will go to hell and the only thing he/she can do for him/her  to go to heaven is to suffer or to die again. When Sir Karlo tackled this topic, some questions in my mind answered. In the middle of our discussion, I’ve realized many things such as I don’t have enough knowledge about what my religion is and I’ve also realized that life is too short so we need to spend our time doing something worthwhile or doing good things so we can achieve the fullfillment of destiny. We should value the life that our creator gave to us because we didn’t know when each of us will die and to be honest, I’m afraid to die before because I didn’t know what will gonna happen to me if i die. My faith to him increases and this lesson help me more in my spiritual growth. Lastly, We should thank him everyday for everything that happens to us, both good and bad. God Loves to us is unconditionally.

I feel blessed and amazed during our discussion because it made me realize and awakened my faith that God is loving and merciful. My very grateful that we are destined to go to heaven and go back to our Creator. God is always with us and takes care of us anytime anywhere. He sends or gives us our own guardian angels to make sure that we are safe from harm. God is merciful but it doesn’t mean that we will do everything that we want specially wrong doings. We should always look at the positive side of life and live life full of love and care for others.

My reaction of Catholic Ecclesiology is amazing because this is my first time that i know about the heaven and bago ka muna makapasok sa heaven ay my judgement day na magaganap sa iyong soul. my second reaction is napahanga ako dahil may mga sphere of angel sa heaven and ang tawag sa kanila ay the church triumphant na kung saan ay naging matagumpay na ang iyong spirit dahil nakuha nito ang kanyang destiny. ang tawag naman sa baba ng gate ng heaven is church suffering dito muna mapupunta ang mga soul bago umakyat or padaanin sa gate ng heaven. sa tulong ng church militant ay nasasave natin ang mga soul dahil kapag pinagdadasal natin sila ay duun palang magbubukas ang pintuan ng heaven. my last reaction of that is may makukuha kang aral dahil sa bawat na sphere sa heaven is may mga angel na gumagabay sa atin o kaya pinakikinggan ang ating dasal para ipahatid kay god. may mga angel ang bawat sphere tulad nalang ng 1st sphere is servants of god the son dito ang mga angel na nagbabantay sa throne ng god tawag sa kanya ay seraphim and the second is the cherubim sya naman ay guardians to the tree of life at kapag ang mga babies ay namamatay sila ay nagiging cherubim. the 2nd sphere is heavenly of governors it means tagapagpatupad ng mga batas. ang mga angel naman dito ay ang una is dominions sila ang mayor, virtues sila ang nagbibigay ng sign, miracle and god life of energy and the last is powers sila ang supreme court and symbolize justice and power. the last is the 3rd sphere dito ang protector, guide, and messender ang mga angels naman dito ay ang una ay principalities of princess sila yung protector of nation and of the church and sila ang most beautiful of angels, the last is archangels sila ang chief o kaya parang mga pulis. ngayon ko lang rin nalaman na may 7 numbers ng panginoon dito mo malalaman kung ano ba ang characteristics mo sa pamamagitan ng iyong birthday tulad ng akin is my birthday is december 16,2002 gaganapin sya sa monday its means my characteristics is si gabriel it means Messenger.

I have been a catholic my whole life. However, when I heard sir Karl, discussing about the Catholic Ecclesiology, hearing those words like the Church suffering, church militant and what not. It feels like I am a newbie in this religion. once again my mind has been blown. Now I am more enlightened. With that said, All souls’ day and All saints’ day has more meaning to me now. Before I always disregarded it as a “walang pasok” day but now, I understand why it is important for us Catholics. In addition to that, I was also mind blown by the discussions about the Angels, It is very interesting to know what kinds of angels walk around with us, who does what and everything. I also didn’t know that we have more angels other than our guardian angels. We take for granted the others. I am also excited for our next topic, which is Exorcism.

As our teacher in CLE discussed the Catholic Ecclesiology, I was amazed of what I have learned from him. We got to know the Church Triumphant that has 3 spheres that contains the different and ranking of the angels of God. It was my first time to know the angels since we don’t discuss the angels in our religion. I was amazed of what the angels can do. I made myself believe in angels because of what our teacher told us. Angels is God’s protectors and angels protects us also. I am extremely amazed on how our teacher explained the Catholic Ecclesiology because he’s not bias in any aspect. As an Adventist, he made me believe that angels are existing. The angels was really interesting and I wish that I can see one of them. I also made myself believe that purgatory exist, where we are making ourselves cleaned from the sins that we have committed.
I was awakened in the part of when our teacher told us that God is forgiving. Even if we are a great sinners, God still forgives us. So that made me realize that I also forgive everyone who commits sins to me because “Ang Diyos nga nagpapatawad, ako pa kaya” I am just a normal person and a sinner. We all make mistakes but we can repent. I was also awakened that time when our teacher told us about the hell where hell was just created by our mind meaning that hell is not existing. Because God is merciful and forgiving. But that doesn’t mean that we can commit sins, we are still responsible in our doings.

As we’ve discussed the Catholic Ecclesiology last Friday, the most awakened part of our lesson for me is about, how the angels of God works. It really made me curious about how they accommodate all their tasks to protect the realm of Lord, especially when it was said that there are three spheres and the communion of saints who compose the kingdom of God. It awakened my faith when I also learned that some of the souls who had sinned, stay in purgatory to repent so they could enter heaven. And for the militants, which the people here on earth should always pray and thank God for giving us life to correct all our wrong-doings here as we still live. Also, they taught us to not pray for the saints because it is their work to pray for us to the Lord. I am so delighted that all of these made me realize to always pray for what I do in everyday life and do not forget God in my heart.

The most awakened discussed to me last friday is about the angels, the Christian angeology. Because in that lectures there’s have what we called Spheres. Which is the 1st sphere is the servants of God, the 2nd sphere is heavenly governors of creation, and the 3rd sphere is the guides, messenger, and the protectors of God. In this levels, i learned here that all the souls that full of sinned is stayed in purgatory before they go to heaven. Also, about the saints that we do not pray to the saints, the saints will pray for us, and only God included in our all prayers. This discussion made me more stronger and have a faith to God, that God can do all things for me. God is always in my heart and I will never regret to obey God. God is my strength in my everyday life. So, I will never forget the name of Jesus.

I was amazed when this topic discussed by sir Karlo even though i am not Catholic. Ang purgatoryo ay isang “church suffering” kung tawagin, all souls will enter purgatory before entering heaven.

God never failed to surprise us, humans, with His unconditional love. Through the lesson that we’ve tackled about the Catholic Ecclesiology, I realized that God made ways for us to reach His kingdom. It is because everyone has the chance to belong with Him by passing through the groups or stages of entering heaven: the Church Militant, Church Suffering, and Church Triumphant. Many people, even I, myself has this misconception that once a person die, he/she will be going between heaven or hell but I was flabbergasted that hell is not really a place but a feeling of extreme pain. Also, the purgatory is where we are allowed to suffer and repent for our sins and by that I already realize that God only wants us to accept what we have mistakenly done by the time that we are still living here on Earth. So now that I am still able to breathe, I found out that it is important to live in a simple and righteous way so that I won’t have to suffer at the end.

With this lesson, I become aware how great God is. Even if we have sinned and may not live perfectly today, He still have plans for us to reconnect with Him and a chance to feel His eternal love. Honestly , I was not able to attend the Sunday mass obligation but this lesson awaken me to come to Him again for me not to feel the incompleteness. This also urge me to build or strengthen my faith and believe in Him always.

I didn’t expect that there was such an amazing story behind the Kingdom of Heaven and Angels. That discussion made my curiosity enlightened, until now I’m still too pre-occupied by that topic. I was really truly amazed. I realized that my knowledge about angels and other topic about saints and heaven are not that deep. Not until Sir Karlos discussed it very well. My reaction was like “Wow! Ang galing! Sana ganito lagi ang topic para nakakagana.” Even when I got home I literally searched about every background of ANGELS that mentioned in the discussion. I’m now planning to make a book about Angels and the Kingdom of Heaven. God and his creation was really amazing. From Kingdom of Heaven, three sphere of Angels, to communion of Saints and Purgatory & Hell. Also I was thankful to the four Evangelist authors of Jesus life on earth. My mind was blown. I hope I’ll still hear more about those said topics. I’m honored to hear everything behind God and Kingdom of Heaven. My faith in God and my belief of Angels has now become more stronger. Thank you Sir Karlos for that sharing a wonderful discussion.

Born in a Christian family, I have always been thought morals that have been inline with my religion. There were instances wherein I have failed to exercise such morals which I deeply repented upon. During our meeting, we were taught various information that gave us an insight about
God’s kingdom, angels, saints and etc. I cant help but think about how certain saints were able to live such holy lives, away from sin and how some, who despite being heavy sinners, still manage to end up being saints, and there I was awakened, we cannot rise from the muddy waters we put ourselves in if we only rely on God’s forgiveness, we must combine His forgiveness with our own works of kindness. We must not abuse God’s kindness, instead we must do our best to atone for those sins. Another key thing that caught my attention was the topic about guardian angels, and looking back I have come to a realization that there were indeed events in my life wherein it had to be the work of my God that had been directed to my guardian angel, God never fails. The discussion really struck a sensitive part in my mind, and it has reshaped my mindset whenever facing struggles, how despite all my flaws and mistakes, God never gets tired of looking after me through my guardian angel. I feel revitalized and hopeful once more.

Last meeting, we tacled about the christian theology such as Church Militant, Church Triumphant & Church Sufferings. I admit that in my 10 years of studying religion as one of our subject, this is the first time that I encountered this particular topic. As we tacled these topics, I listened carefully because I am interested to know it. The topic that I appreciated more is Church Suffering since it consists of regrets and realization. As we spent our days here in the land, we encountered a lot of sins. But as the time goes by, we realized every mistakes and sins that we did.

Furthermore, there is one phrase that I can’t forget in our class discussion, it is the phrase “We are destined to join our creator”. As we all know, maybe one of these days we might die. We can’t tell the exact day, time and scenario but it is the sad truth. We must come to our mind that we only borrow our life from Jesus Christ. Therefore, we must live our life to the fullest because maybe some other time is destined to our comeback to the Lord.

But I always think that God is always there for us not only to guide us but also to give us the power to have a mindset to do something good. As a person, I already commited mistakes. For the sins and mistakes that I’ve done, I pray for forgiveness. God will always be there for you. To the good and bad days he is the one who give us the energy to do our daily routine. He can be the one who cleansed out all of our sins. I realize that no one is better than the other one. God is good and knows equality works. Reading this article leads me to have a better understanding about how God can help us everytime.

Before, I didn’t believed that Guardian Angels really exist because if they were real why am i suffering so much things but after the discussion I learned that they always there to heal you and it just like everything happen for a reason.

Honestly, I’am a kind of person who wants to know everything about religion, their beliefs and perspectives towards something. but since my religion is Catholic, the Catholic Ecclesiology (topic last Tuesday) brings an enlightenment to every each of us. For me, I find is interesting since it talks all about angels, god, sins and ect. This topic gives me a sight about the things that I didn’t know on the catholic churches, about the spheres, and specially the angles who knows that they are existed here in the earth. I was amazed on how Sir Karlo discuss and introduce the spheres of God, through him I will not know who is my angels, where will I be when my soul go to my glorified body, and all the things that I didn’t know about my religion. But through these angels, they guide us eventhough that we commit mistakes and wrong doings. They still guide and lead us to the right path so that when the special day came we can still be part of the spheres and be one of gods angels. Just like the angels from the first sphere, the two wings of them were covered by their face in order for us to focus only in god because they said the God is the center of all, he should be the one we need to praise. I also learned about the died persons were placed in the Purgatory or The Church of Sufferings, were in order for them to enter on the 3 spheres we need to pray for them. According to Sir Karlo, Prayer is the surge of heart, hindi lang ito kailangan o dahil gusto natin. The whole lesson touches my heart and my faith, It gives me hope and strengthen my faith in God. I’am hopping that every person in the world will know about the Catholic Ecclesiology because it really helps a lot specially in on what they believe and their faith in god.

I found out that God is truly amazing. It shows that Catholics are divided into three ecclesiology but still united as one. Here, I learn that while we are still a Church Militant, we must do good for others. We must always repent for our sins and always mind that we are the soldiers of God. We are here living on Earth to do good and be good, but what amazed me is that God is forgiving. We are all sinners, and we live to be good to others, but humans are born to be imperfect, we are born sinners, and eventually will die a sinner. Despite of us being a sinner, God is still giving us the chance on cleansing our soul, and that is when we join the Church Suffering. In the Church Suffering we are given a chance to change for better, God is so loving and God will forgive us no matter what our sins are. Once we achieved everything, God is ready to deliver us on the Church Triumphant where everyone are cleanse, where we all are saints and glory in the eyes of God. That’s how God endlessly love us all.

Nung discussion tungkol sa christian anelology dami kong nalaman tungkol sa mga angels na agents of god na may mga ginagampanan pala silang tungkulin para sa panginoon na kung saan ang 1st sphere ay servant of god the son ang seraphim na caretakers of the throne, cherubim the guardians of the tree of life, thrones elders among angels the presenter of the prayers of men.

It was my first time in listening to this topic. I find it very interesting since it is new to my ears and indeed i learned a lot from this lesson. I was enlightened by the three divisions of the church and made me know the terms that I did not know before. The other term for purgatory which is the church suffering, I learned that prayers really works for the people who belong to the church suffering. The most important lesson that I’ve learned from this is that we should always be consistent to our faith. We shouldn’t let just anyone to shake us because it builds our destiny on our , I am a sinner. I often sin even if I knew its wrong, I continue doing it. Now that I became aware of what will happen in the judgement day, I now have the control and discipline to myself since I am aiming for having an eternal life with God.

Last Thursday, sir Karlo discussed about The Catholic Ecclesiology. This topic is very interesting because i didn’t know that there’s a different kinds of angels. Akala ko is all angels are the same that’s why i was so amazed to know that all angels is have different role to play. And I’ve learned that there’s is no hell. And this topic taught us that everything we did have a consequences when we died. and because of what I’ve learned, my faith to God become stronger because it shows how amazing he is. He sent us angels who will protect us and he is willing to accept us kahit ano man ang nagawa nating sin because he loves us so much and because of this my faith as Christian awakened because when we deserve punishment, He doesn’t punish us, and in fact blesses us instead.

In this lesson, I honestly learned a lot of things because never in my life I have ever known about these Catholic Ecclesiology, even when I am a Catholic before and also that I’m now a Born Again Christian. I was enlightened and surprised while the discussion is on going, considering that I don’t have enough knowledge about this matter. Also, it’s awesome to know that I have my own Guardian angel and I’m very much happy because I’m free to give him a specific name. I know that my angel will protect me against any harm and I am amazed by the different kinds of angels. As a Christian, my faith became much stronger. God really has the wisdom. In our past discussion about the Catholic Ecclesiology to be honest I’ve never been this interested again in listening about this kind of topic because sometimes I feel sleepy even though I’m trying to push myself to be active but when again Sir. Karlo our teacher was about to teach us already there is a sudden feeling that I should really listen and that was the time I felt really amaze, it was like the whole topic of the discussion awakened my faith as a christian and because of every discussions it makes me want to study and know more about being a catholic and everything about my religion. At the first part of the discussion our teacher told us that the church is us, human.

When our teacher told that there are divisions or three states of the church it became more interesting to listen because this are the things that I still don’t know and these are the Church Militant, Church Penitent, and Church Triumphant. I am trully amazed that we are not only a church but we are a Church Millitant which is us, Christians on earth as soldiers of Christ against the sins, the devil, and as the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places and also, those who are in the purgatory which is called the Church Suffering I admire this part because even those who are already in the purgatory can be a church too and this is what I love about this topic because everyone really has a chance and a place to be with and lastly, the Church Triumphant which is I think I find it beautiful because these are those who have the beatific vision and are in Heaven.

To conclude, I really love the whole topic/discussion because it’s all about being a church as a whole and that we don’t need infrastructures to have a church just what our teacher said Jesus needs only those who people who will unite for him and those people are already the church itself.

The recent discussion opened my eyes to the reality that as a Christian one must really be able to think of the things that he’s about to do while he/she is here on Earth. I grew up believing the concept of heaven and hell, the pastor in the church I attended would always remind us to do good things and follow the commandments written in the bible. That being said makes it very hard for us to reach the church triumphant because of all the temptations surrounding us. But again the God answered that through 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” AS we live our days remaining here on Earth I realized that we must always make each second count and to things that would not only let us grow and prosper but would help us fulfill our main goal which is to become man and women of Christ. It was also nice knowing the different kinds of angels in heaven and on Earth.

Before reading the whole context, the first thing that I knew about Christian Ecclesiology is that it tackles about angels. All I knew is that we have our angels. Then after I have read this context, I was enlightened that the angels what are the purpose of angels and what are the things that they can do. Angels are there to guide us, to protect us, to help us to the right path of our lives. My knowledge about Christian Ecclesiology was also widened because of the readings about. I also realised that our God is merciful and loving because even though we had a lot of sins and we continuously doing sin, He was always there for us to forgive us. He was always available for us because that is how He love us. And I think the rightful way to give back what God has done for us is to praise Him, acknowledge Him and Accept Him as our God and Sa ior. Because He was greater that anything.

I admit that I do not have enough knowledge in Catholic Ecclesiology, especially Angelology. It is one of the reasons why I doubt the existence of angels and the accuracy of some practices present in the Catholic church. However, I did find this discussion interesting and it urged me to have an open mind towards discussions like these. At first, I did not know how to velieve that we all have our guardian angels, that there are 7 angels, and how we pray to saints but I learned about the angels and their different categories and roles. I learned that we do not praise or pray to the saints and the Virgin Mary, but we honor them and they are also the path to Jesus or in communication with Him. This misconception is often addressed. I did not understand the whole “St. Candida, pray for us” statement because I doubted the practice and because of that, I do not practice some of the practices in the Catholic church even though I am Catholic. That part of the discussion is where my faith was awakened and I now believe and will continue to have an open heart and mind for new things and new knowledge. Through this, I know I will become a better individual and will continue to pray for it.

After the discussion last Thursday about Catholic Ecclesiology, I feel enlightened and at the same time, I feel ashamed of myself. Enlightened because way back when I was a kid, all I know is that there are angels and one of them is my guardian angel and that angel will save me from accidents, will deliver my prayers to God so that it will be answered immediately, and will protect me no matter what just like what guardian angels in the movie do. But after the discussion, my beliefs about the concept of angels became different. I learned that the Christian Church is divided into three, the Church Militant or the Christians who are still alive on Earth, the Church Penitent or also known as Church Suffering, this church consists of Christians who are in purgatory and lastly, the Church Triumphant, this contains Christians who have the beatific vision and are already in Heaven. I learned that there are so many types of angels and each of them have specific roles and special powers that can help us humans not just gurdian angel. I feel ashamed of myself because I know that most of the time, I do sinful things that can hurt my guardian angels.

The part of the lesson which awakened my faith as a Christian is that when our professor, Sir Karlo told us that the only way for other souls who are in the Church Suffering or in purgatory is that we Christians who are still on Earth should pray for them. Prayer is one of the most important things a Christian can do. Aslo, there’s always a chance for us Christians to change our wrongdoings. It is not yet the end so we should choose/do the right thing because in the end, we’ll suffer if we continue the sinful acts.

As a Christian, I have fallen in love with the fact that we can pray for the lost souls in Purgatory to help them slowly, but surely ascend to heaven. We can give them another hope beyond the physical realm. One small prayer from a person means one step for them into getting to the Gates. This gives me the motivation to pray for them as I would want all of us to receive a good life in the afterlife.

I am also forever grateful that in the Choir of Angels, there are Guardian Angels that will protect and guide us in every step of our way on Earth. They are always there for us, guarding us from evildoers and demons that will try to harm us, and from accidents that will lead us to our untimely death. Their existence shows that God really loves us and will give us the best life that we can get. If God and our angels do their best to protect us, we should be grateful for them and take advantage of it.

The discussion last Monday is about the angels, the 3 spheres and 3 states of the church. There are many types of angels and each angels have a task to do. and I learned that we cant get in to the gate of Heaven until we didnt reach our enlightenment.

It was interesting to learn about the Catholic ecclesiology especially about the spheres of angels and the seven angels with different roles. I was also interested about their names because it corresponds to the name of the days. We also discussed about the Church Triumphant which is the heaven, purgatory being the Church Suffering, and the Church Militants.
All of us will go to the Kingdom of God and just as promised we will all go back to the hands of our creator because it is our destiny. During the discussion Sir Karl said that Moises was just instructed to tap the cane once but he did it twice the consequences of their actions made them wait a thousand years just to enter the gate of heaven.

I’ve learned that prayer is important because it helps us to be closer to God. It is also our way to show our adoration to God, to thank Him for the blessings we have everyday, and to ask for His guidance and blessing everyday.

After the discussion I realized that all of us our destined to be with our creator. But we need to reach our enlightenment so we can join the Kingdom of Heaven.

The discussion about catholic ecclesiology made me think that there is a life after death. However, we don’t know one another. I learned that God has given us a free will, wether we will choose to serve for him or choose the other path. As a christian, of course I will choose to serve him. I’m not a perfect person and God is always willing to forgive me and because of that I wanted to be worthy of his unconditional love. The blog and discussion made me think twice about my actions. I should start living like a christian and follow him. So that when the judgement day has come, I know that I have lived my life the way He wanted me to be and be with him eternally.

In our previous discussion , Sir Karlo talked about Christian Ecclesiology I was totally unaware that the Christian Church is divided into three namely Church militant , Church Triumphant and Church Suffering . Since I was a child I always asked myself Why there are different religions in the world ? Why we cant have just only one as a whole ? .Finally , my curiosity finally ends when Sir Karlo explained the answers . I felt like I was a neophyte in our religion totally innocent on what’s happening . I was totally bombarded with the facts about heaven and our religion . I lived for 17 years but I only have a shallow information about our religion .I realized how merciful and forgiving Jesus is , he opens the Kingdom of Heaven for us that how great his love is . I was also enlighten about how huge is the impact of prayers to us . Also , the reason behind the holiday ‘All souls day ‘ thanks to Sir Karlo now I will not just take it just an ordinary day. For me , Prayer is our way to communicate in heaven .This lesson really changed my views about our religion . I realized the more I learn about our religion the more fascinating it is and now I was so eager to deepen my knowledge to know better our religion . Someone says to me that before you appreciate and love , you need to learn from it first . This CLE class really deepens my faith not just in my religion but also in Jesus Christ . I am looking forward for more other than exorcism and the 9 choirs of Angels .

After the discussion of Sir Karl about the Catholic Ecclesiology it gives me the clarification about what is heaven and what is hell. Way back elementary days I almost convert to born again christian and they said that there’s no purgatory but there is only two destination that you’re souls will go which is heaven and hell. But when I enter junior high school, I realized that I got blinded about what are the teaching of catholic church. Now that i’m in Nazareth School of National University I can say that I have blessed because I got the privilege to know what will happen when you die and what will happen to your souls. And also, I learned more about the sphere of angels that there are 3 types of angels namely seraphim, cherubim, and thrones.

The part of discussion that awakes my faith as a christian is when Sir Karl said that we Christians, pray directly to only one God, maybe we mention some saints but always remember that mentioning their name is asking help for them to help us in our prayers to reach God. That part help me to not get blinded for the second time when someone ask me question about why we pray to the saints when there is only one God.

Last Tuesday, Sir Karlo discussed about Catholic ecclesiology. I learned and gained a lot from the lesson tackled. Also, I was enlightened regarding the things I was not familiar with before. As a Catholic and still living until the present, I realized and regretted plenty of things. I even felt God’s presence during the discussion.
I understand that God never neglect nor forsake us, no matter what happen. Just like the concept of purgatory — we, humans, are naturally sinners which make and do sins every day but He still gave us chances to find the light and our path to heaven. In here, I also found out that we, people, are the ones who make and decide for the directions that we are going to take in — our life’s pathway — because our destiny is to definitely to recur and come back to our creator. Aside from that, I even realized that as long as we are still alive, we still have the time to change and apologize for all our sins, so we must grab that chance. Lastly, I believe in guardian angels even more, because when I was young, I do not really believe that they are true nor exist. But I finally believe in them now, who stays by our side to guide us and not to leave us.

I was mostly intrigued and fascinated with every topic that has been discussed. I first thought that angels are indeed many but I didn’t knew that they have classifications and characters that contributes to the daily life of men. All I knew before the discussions are the archangels and gurdian angels that I thought was just the same. What struck me to be more awakened in Christianity is the Church suffering. I realized that this world we are living on is really hard to be in for sins are always around us. That made me want to be closer to God, I am not scared but what I need is to be more confident with my faith.
