Catholic ecclesiology is the theological study of the Catholic Church, its nature and organisation, as described in revelation or in philosophy. Such study shows a progressive development over time. Here the focus is on the time leading into and since the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965).

In Christian theology, the Christian Church is traditionally divided into:

the Church Militant (Latin: Ecclesia militans), which consists of Christians on earth who struggle as soldiers of Christ against sin, the devil, and “the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places”;
the Church Penitent (Latin: Ecclesia poenitens), also called the Church Suffering (Latin: Ecclesia dolens) or the Church Expectant (Latin: Ecclesia expectans), which in the theology of certain churches, especially that of the Catholic Church, consists of those Christians currently in Purgatory; and
the Church Triumphant (Latin: Ecclesia triumphans), which consists of those who have the beatific vision and are in Heaven.

These divisions are known as the three states of the Church, especially within Catholic ecclesiology. These divisions are often discussed in the context of the doctrine of the communion of saints; although Christians may be physically separated from each other by the barrier of death, they nonetheless remain united to each other in one Church, and support each other in prayer.

The Church Triumphant
The term triumphant (Latin: triumphans), means “exulting, rejoicing exceedingly”, taken from a figurative usage of triumphus, originally designating the Roman triumph. Those who constitute the Church Triumphant rejoice eternally in the glory of God, to whom they are united in the beatific vision.

The Church Suffering

The term penitent (Latin: poenitens or paenitens means “repenting, being sorry”. Those who constitute the Church Penitent are in Purgatory to satisfy whatever portion of the temporal punishment due for their sins was not satisfied before death. They are in a process of purging their imperfections before entering heaven. It is held that all members of the Church Penitent will eventually join the Church Triumphant.

The alternate term suffering (Latin: dolens, lit. ‘grieving’) emphasizes the nature of souls’ experience in Purgatory; they are suffering the temporal consequences of their sins to redemptive effect. The other alternative, expectant (Latin: expectans or exspectans), emphasizes that the souls of Purgatory are awaiting expectantly the beatific vision of heaven.

The Church Militant

The term militant (Latin: militans) has a primary meaning of “being a soldier, performing military service”, but it acquired a secondary meaning of “serving, performing service, laboring”, with its root milito coming to mean “soldier of Christ or God” in Medieval Latin usage. The members of the Church Militant, i.e. those Christians on earth, are engaged in spiritual warfare against sin in order that, when they die, they might enter heaven and join the Church Triumphant. Failing that directly, those who believe in the existence of Purgatory hope to die in a state of grace and join the Church Penitent, to purify themselves of their imperfections and, ultimately, join the Church Triumphant.

The Catholic Church commemorates the Church Triumphant and the Church Penitent in its liturgy on two consecutive days: All Saints’ Day on November 1 (the Church Triumphant) and All Souls’ Day on November 2 (the Church Penitent).

These terms are not used in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, an authoritative summary of the teaching of the Catholic Church published in 1994. However, the teaching these terms represent is precisely restated, quoting Lumen gentium:

The three states of the Church. “When the Lord comes in glory, and all his angels with him, death will be no more and all things will be subject to him. But at the present time some of his disciples are pilgrims on earth. Others have died and are being purified, while still others are in glory, contemplating ‘in full light, God himself triune and one, exactly as he is’.”

Lumen Gentium

“answer” Benidick Taccaban Humss 1804 I know that there is an angel but i dont know that there’s different angels that has is own task ffor the human that’s why I enjoyed the discussion last time. It satisfied my questions about the theory of angels. Catholic ecclesiology is very interesting topic, a lot of knowledge or lesson will give it to us.But for me it still a theory. The thing here is we must have a strong faith to God by praying and we should do good things without expecting in return.

Answer: I was absent the day it was discussed, but one of my former classmate, told me about the discussion all about. I learned about Angels, and I also learned that Angels have hierarchy. Last year, I don’t know why they always pray to St. Candida, but after the lesson I learned that Saints are in the communion of saints, so they are near to God, so that our prayer can be faster, and also I learned that when we pray, it is directly to God, it has the angel that getting the prayer and they will tell God. For me its fun topic.

Based from the lessons that was discussed to us last wednesday, I was enlightened to know more about the catholic ecclesiology because I am not a catholic that’s why I don’t know much about them and I also admit that I had a bad impression towards it because of the beliefs of other catholic people that I had always observed, what I’m pertaining about here is the practices that I don’t see important such as having those big replicas of saints inside the church, people being crazy about the miracles of the black nazarene and how they pray to the saints. All of those are my thoughts about the catholic religion but I learned that it was just a common misconception that is why I’m now curious about finding the truth about the catholic practices and teachings. While it was being discussed, I started to consider and appreciate the saints especially about how holy and good they were on Earth that they now belong to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd spheres from God. I am thankful that I get to know new and corrected thoughts about it and I’m still hoping to get to know everything what was written in the bible to get closer to God and prevent myself from the bad decisions in life because when I read the bible alone I felt so lost and confused because of the way it was literally interpreted.

After the discussion, I got enlightened in everything about Catholic Ecclesiology, since I was a kid I only knew the basic ones. I got to know the three spheres that contains different kind of angels and its rank. I never knew that there are ranking of angels that made me amazed. I felt like im not a catholic because i dont even know about those things. That part awakened my faith as a christian I able to gain more knowledge and to be faithful to God. Moreover, I’ve learned that souls who had sinned, stay in purgatory they have to repent so that they can enter the heaven above. For the militants, people here on earth should be thankful to God for giving us chance to correct the all wrong doings. And the most important is tp pray always to God.

Thw discussion last friday is about christian angeology, this awakened myself because of the spheres and angels. The 1st sphere is the servants of God, 2nd is the governors of creation, and 3rd is guides, protectors, and messenger of God. This spheres help me to open my mind about angels role. The i learned that before the souls go to heaven this need to go first in purgatory. Also, this lectures is more engaged me to love God and put him in my deeply heart, God is my strenght iny my everyday Life so i will never forget the name of Jesus always. This lesson help me to be brave more because no matter what happened to me there’s an angel and God that prtect abd guide me in everything i do.

What I learned in our discussion was so amazing and beautiful because it only shows that God really loves us and how he truly care and have mercy for us. I like this subject because nalaman ko kung ano ang ginagawa ni God sa ating buhay and angels are the agents of God, all of us have our own guardian angels who will always protect us. We need to be friends with them by simply fighting the temptation of doing things that can hurt or harm us. I’m also surprised because lucifer is the bearer of light before and because of his rebellion against God, God put lucifer in the underworld and became the infamous Satan. We are all human beings and we are destined to be reunited in the promised land of God. I learned a lot because as an athlete it so important to pray, trust, and worship God because he will guide us to our future and he will protect us from harm. I trust him because he can always guide us just by his presence within our hearts and I always put in mind na hindi tayo papabayaan ni God kaya kailangan pa nating mas kilalanin si God at palaging mag dasal sakanya.

After how many years of believing on some beliefs that have been discussed by my grandparents I was amazed on the knowledge that I learned last week about Catholic Ecclesiology. Before, my grandmother is always saying that before going to sleep, I should pray Angel Of God because this the prayer to thank my guardian angel. After the discussion last week, I learned that there are lots of angel that guides us on our daily lives. And the fact that there is a designated angel to guide us on the what day we were born. I also learned that praying for the saints is not thing that we should do, because it is the saint that prays for us to have a closer and harmonious relationship with God.

The discussion last wednesday was all about angels, church, and Catholic ecclesiology. The first thing that comes in to my mind after hearing about angels is that I don’t believe in angels. I eventually don’t believe on something that’s beyond my sight. What I mean is that I believe on things that can be seen and felt. I learned about that the Church triumphant has Three spheres that contains different angels and their rank. The first sphere is the servant of God the son that has Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones.
Seraphim are the one’s who took care of the throne of God. Cherubim is the protector of the tree of life and the last one is Thrones who symbolizes justice & authority.
The second sphere are the heavenly governance that has Dominations, Virtues, Powers & Authority. The third sphere are the archangels of god or called as the messenger of God and also has Archangels, guardian angels, and Principalities of Princess.
Angels are the angents of God and after hearing it all I feel like i wanted to believe a litt bit. It was also my first time to know that the actual look of a Cherubim is based on the Four evangelist. Matthew symbolizes the OX, Luke for the man, Mark for the Lion and lastly John for the eagle.

What I’ve learned from our last topic in CLE is about the nature and organizations in Catholic Ecclesiology. We started to tackle the Christian angelology which came from the Greek word angelous or angels and logos that means study. Based in Judaism angels are agents of God and at first the organizations of angels was called as the hierarchy of angels and was changed to Choirs of angels in the medieval period. In the angels there are different organizations which are the first sphere, second sphere, third sphere and the communion of saints.

The lesson that awakens my faith as a Christian is when sir Karlo teaches about the role of every angels not only to God but for us humans that facing the challenges of our creator just to test our faith in him. we should always put in to our minds that we may have some differences but we all have some purpose.

To be honest, for me, the discussion last Tuesday was a sensitive issue that the Catholic Religion has been facing. Nevertheless, it is something that needs to be clarified. During the discussion, I felt the excitement that lingers within my soul. Maybe the reason behind it was, I was really interested about it.

I am a servant in our parish and we had an activity called “Cossaints” wherein its purpose is, to enlighten others about the misconception about All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. In that moment, I was awakened about the beliefs of the Catholic Church through our activity. It became my dream to enlighten others especially those people who are confused to their faith. I just wanted to share a statement that Bishop Pablo Virgilio “Ambo” David said to us, “Maliwanagan upang makapagbigay liwanag.” I guess Bishop Ambo influences me to be the light in the darkness. I started to think what are my capabilities and how I will utilize those to enlighten others. But God’s plan amazes me more, He used Mr. Karlo as an instrument to enlighten others, including me. It helps me to understand and strengthen my faith. I do believe that Saints and Angels will help me to pursue my dream. One of my take away from our discussion is that, always be good and do good. Also, I truly felt that the kingdom of God really lies in my heart. The kingdom of God never fail to welcome me as always. I can truly say that His love never fails.

Through the discussion on Catholic Ecclesiology, I was amazed and enlightened about the lessons that has been discussed. Before I believe that when you made good things you will go to heaven and when you had a lot of sins you will go to hell. But God didn’t made his judgement yet because he loves us so much and he doesn’t wants us to go to hell so we will go to purgatory to receive our eternal punishment. Also, I learned that we don’t pray for the saints instead they are praying for us and we used them as a way because they are close to God for the prayer is the most powerful. All the lessons awakened my faith as Christians for whatever happens God still loves us and he even sacrifice himself to save us from sins and sent his angels to protect us.

Since this is a CLE class, it is expected that the lessons will focus about the life with God. But do we really understand and apply those things in out lives? In my 18 years of existence, my parents raised me to have fear on our Lord, to pray for him for forgiveness and peace of mind. Last Tuesday, our professor taught us about the angels and saints, what the kingdom of God really means and many more. As the discussion goes by, there is one thing that awakened my faith as a christian and it is about the guardian angels. Because by that, I realized that angels and our God really exist. We obviously can’t see them but it lie back in our hearts. Also, when our professor told us who is our guardian angel I felt happy because it made me think that there is someone who will guide and protect me whenever and wherever I am, that there is someone who never gets tired of me.

Last Monday, we had our discussion about the Catholic ecclesiology. For me it was interesting and fun because I’ve learned about the sphere of angels and the 7 angels with different roles from heaven. We also discussed about the Church Triumphant or heaven, Purgatory which also known as Church Suffering and the Church militants. Sir Karl also explained the sphere of the angels, the first sphere is the Seraphim, Cherebum and the thrones. The second sphere is the Dominions, Virtues, and powers, and lastly the third sphere is the principalities of princes and my favorite archangels, I was also interested about the topic because I learned that we can name our angels. Overall, the misconceptions about hell, heaven, purgatory and angels were answered and explained in the discussion.

Last monday, I learned a lot about Christian Ecclesiology. I was so excited about this topic because i am really curious about angels, what angels really are and what angels really do. I remember When i was a little boy i thought angels is just normal guardian angel that follows you anywhere and always protecting you from any accident i never expected that angels have so many types and characteristics. Last monday i learned all of that thanks to sir Karlo (even tho he discussed all of that so quickly because we already running out of time) we still managed to understand all of that. Sir Karl also mentioned about our guardian angels name depends on the day you was born, mine was St. Gabriel the chief messenger. I feel so glad and enlightened at the same time because it is clear to my mind that angels is not just an angel that i thought before, angels are the servants of god that send to everyone of us to guide and protect us to our journey of life. Thanks to sir Karl for teaching us this topic, now its clear in my mind that our guardian angels is not just an angels that i know before they have their own characteristics and ability. Thanks to God for making all of them and always protect us in everything.

After that lesson not a suicidal thought pero parang gusto ko na mamatay after that kasi i wanna see how it works.

I was very astonished when this topic, The Catholic Ecclesiology, was being discussed. The topic captures my interest for I didn’t know that there are states of church, wherein every state of church has its own function. The church triumphant is what captures my interest the most, it amazes me for the reason that I didn’ t know there are spheres of angels, saints, Blessed Virgin Mary, and other holy members of the church who surrounds our God. It made me more more amaze when we discusses a out the angels, for I didn’t know they have different function, and not only to guide. Lastly, I was very surprised when our mentor told us about the church suffering. I never knew that God give the souls a chance to repent for their sins for them to reach the church triumphant, and all along I thought sinners will directly sent to hell. When our mentor told us that the communion of saints and Blessed Virgin Mary prays for us here, it made me awakened my faith. I thought that they are meant to be worshipped, but they are the one who help us to answer our prayer directly to God and that is the reason why it awakens my faith.

Ang natutunan ko about sa lesson noong nakaraan is in every person live on the earth we have our own beliefs. We give faith to our God not on the gods or godesses that others have. We have a statue to be the best way to communicate our God and para maiparating nag lahat ng ating prayers. Hindi lang tayo nananalangin para humingi ng tawad at kahit ano but to remind ourselves that be always pray and give time to pray to God. We must pray to Him by being honest and told Him what the truth and what your sins. God is good all the time so that we should be good too❤️.

I was enlightened to know more about the catholic ecclesiology It made me more amaze when we discusses the angels, for I didn’t know they have different function, and not only to guide. And for the Purgatory is a clear and definitive teaching of our faith. But Purgatory, itself, is so easily misunderstood. It’s not a place we go to be punished as a result of God’s anger. Rather, it’s a state in which we enter our final purification for the sake of God’s love.  It is His burning love that has the impact of purifying us of every last attachment we have to sin. Think about your loved ones who have gone before you.  Let your love for them compel you to pray for them, especially today. Trust that the prayers, sacrifices and indulgences you offer for them are the greatest gift of Mercy you can give.

Lord, assist me to understand the truth and to be set free through this knowledge.  Please protect me from the subtle lies and deceptions of the evil one.  I rebuke him in Your holy Name and entrust myself to Your protecting Hand.  Jesus, I trust in You.

As I grow up I thought there were only Angels, Demons, God, Jesus Christ, Heaven and Hell and I don’t really have an idea what is purgatory. But when sir discussed it, it was cleared to me that God really exist and there is no heaven and hell but there is Satan and God. Kaya dapat we don’t let Devils manipulate us. Let our guardian Angels guide and help us and be friends with them so that we can still be a good person.

When I was a pre- schooler, I studied in a catholic school. There, we would always pray every morning, neeling inside the church. However, we do not have that much idea as to why we are doing that every day. Whenever we play during our free time, teachers would remind us to be kind always to other people, especially to our playmates; that if not, our guardian angels would leave our sides.
Those were the times that guardian angels were first inroduced to me, but this time is a different experience; a one of a kind lecture where my curiosity and excitement reached its maximum level. Last Monday, I experienced the most heart warming class session so far. I felt that other students, as much as possible, all schools should also introduce Catholic Ecclesiology. For me, it can be a strong foundation of everyone; it would help us be reminded of his love and our purpose on Earth and our purpose to mankind. At the start of the lesson, my faith was immediately awaken. When our teacher mentioned that according to Saint Thomas Aquinas that it should not be hierarchy of angels, but rather a choir of angels. It was so heart warming to know that we can help others by praying for then and after death, we still have a purpose.

In our previous discussion in CLE, I was late that time because  it’s too traffic but according to this topic, I was enlightened because of the 3 churches in this world nobody’s perfect we are sinful, we are different thoughts but we are equal to God. before to commit the last churches i need to suffer of my life i have no idea what happen in our
world someday but i know God guides me and give a right path to be with him.

I know there are different religion in this world but for me I still believed in God I have many problems facing in this world with my guardian angel until to commit the Church Triumphant and to feel rejoice and giving eternal happiness through union with God based in my read in Bible verse according to Romans 14:8 “If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord” . This verse taught me good direction in my life because I will be in God forever.

I’m so happy of our last lesson because it enlighten my mind and strengthen my faith in God. It also gives me hope because even though we have done a lot of sins, we still have a chance to be with our creator and I’m very happy of what sir karl said that all of us have our own guardian angel who protects us and guide us fighting for us so that no one will be hurt and now I am very confident of myself. And it is important that you have always faith with our creator because he is the only way for us to be a successful because without him we are nothing.Because i know that our god is always be with us no matter how hard the situation is,as an Athlete we have so many challenges in life trainings and especially the sacrifices sometimes i fall, but i will do my best to stand up because i know that god always be with our hearts who loves us and believes in us.Thankyou and godbless

Based on what Ive learned in our discussion I was amazed because it only shows that God really loves us and how he truly care for us. All of us have our own guardian angel who protects us and we need to be friends with them simply by fighting the temptation of doing things that can hurt or harm. And we have our own guardian angels that guides us everyday. And im so shock because lucifer is the bearer of light before and because of envy God Put lucifer in the underworld. And we are all human beings we destined to be reunited in the promised land of GOD. And I learned a lot because as an athlete it so important to to pray, trust, and worship GOD because HE will guides us from our futures and he wil protect us from the bad things because HE knows everything And trust HIM because he can guides us from the right path .Thank you .

I learned a lot on our past discussion about the Catholic Ecclesiology. It’s a pleasure for me as a student and a human, to understand what this lesson really means to us. It enlightens me as a christian and change my wrong beliefs about it. The study of Christian Angels really pokes my interest, because i found out that there are a lot of things we should know about this lesson. There are the Communion of Saints, the Spheres of Angels and the other terms that we, as a Christian, must know. I also found out whose my angel could be based on my birthday, that’s why it is so interesting.

As a student and a christian person, i felt so relieved to learn about this lesson. The Catholic Ecclesiology wakes me up for being a Christian, in terms of giving me the real meaning of things that should be known as a Christian. This lesson consists teachings about angels and demons. For the whole lesson, i feel so interested on how the angels and demons work as what their missions are. The Christian Angelology tells us the nmdifferent layers of sphere of the angels that includes diffrent kinds of angels and their responsibilities. It helps a lot for me and it somehow cleanse my soul in a way that i feel like i’m truly a christian now. It enlightens me on what things of beliefs will i always remember.

After the discussion about the Catholic Ecclesiology, I feel real, enlighten and speechless. I felt real to myself because there is something in me, a missing piece probably that really question myself who really I am or do I really know myself being the child of God. I realized that I am really lost, my identity being the child of God is not really strong enough. I felt enlighten because my knowledge about my religion and the Catholic church was not enough and I’m not familiar about these kind of topic and lessons because I’ve never tackled about this matter before. I felt like I need to discover more about my religion and the Church. I need more understanding and in-depth compression and critical explanation about the knowledge and wisdom towards my religion and the Church. I’m speechless because the new information and knowledge that enters my senses and being feed into my brain are certainly new to my ears. I’m speechless because of extreme amazement and I am fascinated to the topics being discussed to me considering the unfamiliarity of the lessons to me it really catches my attention and interest to acknowledge and digest every piece of information. My faith as Christian is enlighten on the part where it is indicated that in Christian theology, the Christian church is divided into three: The Church Militant, this church are the one that we have here in the earth where all Christians will be the soldiers of God that constantly fighting against the sins that we have and the devil. Next is the Church Suffering or the Purgatory, in this Church whenever a person dies the spirit will go in this Church where repentance and the spirit must penitent to all sins committed before they dies. It is the Church where spirits need to cleanse and purify against their sins before the gates of heaven opens and the spirit will enter and belong to the Church Triumphant. The Purgatory is misinterpreted as hell where the spirit will experience eternal punishment where in fact the punishment is eternal repentance of sins and be worthy before entering the gates of heaven. The Church Suffering will be the judging statge of the spirit where the spirit have the complete freedom and freewill to choose whether experience eternal punishment or be worthy to be with God in the Church Triumphant. However, the Church Triumphant, is the Church where we can be together with God and experience eternal love and glory of him together with the Angels and the Communion of Saints. Here in the Church Triumphant there is no suffering but eternal grace and glory of God. It is clearly explained he misconceptions about the Christians praying to Saints and Mama Mary, it is acknowledge that the Saints and Mama Mary is belong to the Communion of Saints in the Church Triumphant. Christians are praying to the Saints because we are asking for glory and help of them to experience the grace and glory. The Communion of the Saints are helping us to enter the Church Triumphant by praying to God asking for eternal grace and glory. At this part I realized that prayer is a very powerful and very important for our salvation and our way in able to communicate with the Communion of Saints, the Angels and also with God to enter the Church Triumphant..

I have so many realizations and mas nagiging close ako kay god. Kumbaga alam nating nakakagawa tayo nang ksalanan but still he choose to forgive us. lalo na kung talagang pinag sisihan natin.

Last Wednesday, Sir Karlo discussed about the Catholic Ecclesiology and my reaction after our discussion was amaze and at the same time enlightened because in my 16 years of existence it is my first time to hear all of those thing about christian church that it is divided into three the church militanan which consists of Christians on earth the second one is the church penitent also called church suffering which consists of those Christians currently in Purgatory and lastly the church triumphant which consists of those who have the beatific vision and are in Heaven.
when sir karlo talk about God specially when he use the handkerchief as representation of God and explain to us that we only have one and only God it really awakened my faith as christian

Christian Ecclesiology quite a complicated topic for me, it is such a pleasure to finally be able to understand it. Furthermore, it is an enlightenment knowing and being able to dig deeper about the religion. It made me become aware of what is the next stage after death or where we might be after leaving this earth. In the past, I thought that a guardian angel is just something my grandparents made up for my young self to believe in but now I learned that we have different angels that is assigned to us depending on the day of our birth. Another one is the three division of the Christian Church, the second division caught my attention. Christian Suffering, it is where the souls are grieving due to their sins after their death. It made me contemplate and discern my actions after knowing all these things. I became more aware of the things I do, and I’m now refraining my self to do things that would make me sinful. It may be hard, for sins are always there but it just made my faith stronger, and with that, it brings me closer to God.

As we tackled Catholic Ecclesiology, I have learned about the first to third sphere of angels. From there, I was able to know that different kind of angels and their roles in heaven. I also was able to know my own angel which is Angel Uriel. But what struck me most in the lesson was when Sir Karlo shared his thought about someone going in hell. He stated that he doesn’t believe in that because God is loving and merciful and if someone goes to hell, that description will not be justifiable. After that, it all made sense. I was happy and enlightened. During that time of the lesson, that statement made me change my perspective about purgatory and other things

After the discussions of Christians Ecclesiology, I was astonished about the topic because I barely know and aware about this specially in Christians Angelology. Eversince I was a child, I would always heard my parents saying that my guardian angels are with me, and guiding me.However, in the discussions, I was enlighten that there are different kinds of angels, and angels responsibilities does not limits on guiding and protecting us.I also learned that the Cherubims represents 4 Evangelists which is Matthew,Mark,Luke and John. The evangelists are considered as cherubims because they spoke about the life of Christ.

I once thought that catholics are praying and worshipping the saints but through the discussions,I was enlighten that catholics do not pray to saints, instead, they are asking for intersession to saints because saints are closer to God. I was astounded when Mr. Karl mentioned that According to Saint Thomas Aquinas,Lucifer was a fallen cherubim. I’ve been hearing about the purgatory although my knowledge about it is shallow, and through the discussions, my understanding about it broaden. Purgatory I learned that there’s no word ‘hell’ in bible, instead it is Hades or eternal punishment. I was amazed and strucked how truly God loves us to the point of apoointing angels for us to be safe and he’s also merciful because he gives us multiple chances to repent and come back to him before it is too late. In this point of discussion, I am more convinced not to be scared because I know that God will never forsake me.

In the discussion of catholic ecclesiology
I’ve been so much curious because I’m not familiar about that. My faith as a Christian is enlightened to know more about it. To be honest, there are times I’m not believing on other people’s doings that praising the replicas of saints. Now I’ve been realize that it’s not bad as long as you’re not praising anyone or anything except for God. Now i appreciate more than I expect. In every prayer that I’ve been praying I’m not expecting that it will be given to me for an instant but I see myself to appreciate more and be contented of what am I having right now. As a Christian my faith is strengthened because I believe that all of my problems that I’m facing right now is just an obstacle that I should carry up myself to escape with the help of God. I am blessed that sir. Karlo took us that lesson and to know the essence of knowing it. He also lifts up our mind to see what’s the important thing that we should know and that is the way of enhancing our faith as a Christians.

I have learned that the heaven has 3 diffrent sphere and also about the purgatory where people suffer from their sins. Catholic Ecclesiology is a study about the Catholic Church and it’s revelation. My reaction on this lesson is that I was amazed about the sphere of the church triamphant at first I really dont have any idea that there are parts in the church until we disccused it in our previous lessons. This lesson is really interesting for me since it helped me to know more about God and the church. As a Christian my Faith was awakened when I heard about the angels. Eversince I was a kid I believed that there are angels everywhere and when Sir Karlo disscused the lesson about angels my Faith was turned on. Another part that awakened my Faith is when Sir Karlo told us that when people pray infront of a rebulto they only getting the help of a rebulto to send God all of their prayers since God is far away from the people. I learned that people always pray for God not for the rebulto.

My reaction from the lesson The Catholic Ecclesiology made me more curious about the Catholic Church as a Christian. Before, I did not know much until it was discussed to us and I was able to understand how the Christian Church is divided into spheres. Discussing about angels is truly interesting for me, knowing the different kinds of angels like Virtues gave me more hope to believe in miracles.

The part of the lesson that awakened my faith as a Christian is the part where the roles or different angels were discussed. It convinced me to always have faith in God because he provided us everything including angels to protect us and serve Him.

The lessons that we discussed last thursday, is about the nature and organizations in Catholic Ecclesiology. We started to tackle the Christian Angelology which came from the greek word angelous or angels and logos that means study. Angels are agents of God, based on Judaism and at first the organizations of angels and was called as the hierarchy of angels and was changed to choirs of angels in the medieval period. I learned about the Church triumphant has three spheres that contains different angels and their rank. The first sphere is servants of God, second sphere is heavenly governors of creation and the third sphere is the guides, protector and messenger of God. Lastly, the communion of saints. I never knew that there are rankings of angels that made me amazed. I felt like i’m not a catholic because i don’t even know about those things. That part awakened my faith as a Christian, I able to gain more knowledge and to be faithful to God. I’ve learned that souls who had sinned, stay in purgatory they have to repent so that they can enter the heaven above. For the militants, people here on earth should be thankful to God for giving us chance to correct all the wrong doings. And the most important is to pray, always pray to God.

I so thankful for God because he give us a many chance to change our life that was my reaction.❣️

The question is did I learned something from Catholic Ecclesiology despite being an Islam? My answer is definitely yes, although the topic is regarding Catholic, me, myself can still learn from it. I find it rather interesting cause I learned something important about other religion. If we are considering the lessons I learned from bring Muslim it is mostly the same with Catholics, not all but I find some similarities like both religion believe with angels and devils. Sometimes I compare the things CLE and Arabic taught me. Which part of the lesson awakened my faith as Muslim, it is probably when my Arabic teacher explains what our prayers mean. I’m always fascinated the meaning behind our prayers although I don’t directly understand it unless someone thoughtful teach it to me.
