Full title: The Assumption of the Virgin Artist: Francesco Botticini Date made: probably about 1475-6

Catholic ecclesiology is the theological study of the Catholic Church, its nature and organisation, as described in revelation or in philosophy. Such study shows a progressive development over time. Here the focus is on the time leading into and since the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965).

In Christian theology, the Christian Church is traditionally divided into:

the Church Militant (Latin: Ecclesia militans), which consists of Christians on earth who struggle as soldiers of Christ against sin, the devil, and “the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places”;
the Church Penitent (Latin: Ecclesia poenitens), also called the Church Suffering (Latin: Ecclesia dolens) or the Church Expectant (Latin: Ecclesia expectans), which in the theology of certain churches, especially that of the Catholic Church, consists of those Christians currently in Purgatory; and
the Church Triumphant (Latin: Ecclesia triumphans), which consists of those who have the beatific vision and are in Heaven.

These divisions are known as the three states of the Church, especially within Catholic ecclesiology. These divisions are often discussed in the context of the doctrine of the communion of saints; although Christians may be physically separated from each other by the barrier of death, they nonetheless remain united to each other in one Church, and support each other in prayer.

The Church Triumphant
The term triumphant (Latin: triumphans), means “exulting, rejoicing exceedingly”, taken from a figurative usage of triumphus, originally designating the Roman triumph. Those who constitute the Church Triumphant rejoice eternally in the glory of God, to whom they are united in the beatific vision.

The Church Suffering

The term penitent (Latin: poenitens or paenitens means “repenting, being sorry”. Those who constitute the Church Penitent are in Purgatory to satisfy whatever portion of the temporal punishment due for their sins was not satisfied before death. They are in a process of purging their imperfections before entering heaven. It is held that all members of the Church Penitent will eventually join the Church Triumphant.

The alternate term suffering (Latin: dolens, lit. ‘grieving’) emphasizes the nature of souls’ experience in Purgatory; they are suffering the temporal consequences of their sins to redemptive effect. The other alternative, expectant (Latin: expectans or exspectans), emphasizes that the souls of Purgatory are awaiting expectantly the beatific vision of heaven.

The Church Militant

The term militant (Latin: militans) has a primary meaning of “being a soldier, performing military service”, but it acquired a secondary meaning of “serving, performing service, laboring”, with its root milito coming to mean “soldier of Christ or God” in Medieval Latin usage. The members of the Church Militant, i.e. those Christians on earth, are engaged in spiritual warfare against sin in order that, when they die, they might enter heaven and join the Church Triumphant. Failing that directly, those who believe in the existence of Purgatory hope to die in a state of grace and join the Church Penitent, to purify themselves of their imperfections and, ultimately, join the Church Triumphant.

The Catholic Church commemorates the Church Triumphant and the Church Penitent in its liturgy on two consecutive days: All Saints’ Day on November 1 (the Church Triumphant) and All Souls’ Day on November 2 (the Church Penitent).

These terms are not used in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, an authoritative summary of the teaching of the Catholic Church published in 1994. However, the teaching these terms represent is precisely restated, quoting Lumen gentium:

The three states of the Church. “When the Lord comes in glory, and all his angels with him, death will be no more and all things will be subject to him. But at the present time some of his disciples are pilgrims on earth. Others have died and are being purified, while still others are in glory, contemplating ‘in full light, God himself triune and one, exactly as he is’.”

Lumen Gentium

After hearing the class discussion , It opens my mind to believe more to the God creator for what He can do for his every child and creations . It helps me to gained a strong foundation not just only for my physical body but also for a strong spiritual body and soul. It also makes my faithfulness and strong belief to our Lord savior God more powerful. The discussion amazes and enlightened me . The dicussion remove all my doubt and cleared all my spiritual questions. However, The part of the lesson which awakened my faith as Christian is that we have our brothers and sisters who are in the purgatory (church suffering) who needs our help (church militant) by praying for them and for their sins so that they can have the chance to enter the heaven. Even they are not with us anymore our responsibilty for them will not just end when they are gone because we still have to help them. Also the said topics about Guardians Angels who would always stay and watching us . An angels who would help us to enter to the center place of God , An angels who helps us to build a strong foundation to believe and have faith to our Lord God . A strong knowledge , a remarkable Idea about catholic church, A strong foundation to believe in God , And an elighted mind of being human catholic are those lesson i had learned After all this discussion.

The lesson that awakened my faith as a Christian is when I realized that I am a chatolic but I don’t know about those topic such as the layers of the angels, the kinds of angels, the names of the churches and included to the spheres in church of triumphant. But mostly the lesson that awakened my faith as Christian is that, when sir discussed the lesson about the angels that we can only read in the book of genesis etc. The lesson last meeting surprised me so much knowing a lot of things about ecclesiology and it makes me more eager to learn more about it.

I was amazed when i learned all about Catholic eclesiology Knowing all the different types of churches all of us really want to go to heaven but in order to do that we must follow and serve god. Also we need to do things that he wants for us. After learning about the different types of angels i was so amazed. As a Catholic i know that heaven is the only place where you can spend ur eternity being happy and contended. I also believe that god is always watching us from above and he won’t let anything bad happen to all of us . Also he won’t let us go to hell for us to suffer.

My reaction in this lesson has amazed me and taught me that the Church itself has its own divisions. As a student and a Roman catholic, it gives me more knowledge more about our church. The part where I was awakened is the Church Triumphant because it tells us that if we humans has a strong faith with God, we can eternally rejoice with his glory. Because of this lesson, my faith with God has grown larger because all of his sacrifices and his blessings to us made me realize that we are not alone in this world and with God, the impossible turns into possible.

This discussion about Catholic Ecclesiology had caught my interest. Life after death has always bothered me.

“What would happen to me after I die? Would I be sent to heaven or hell? But the hell is scary and I want to go to heaven. But what if I had too many sins? What can I do to be forgiven?”

These kinds of thought have always been running on my mind. But after reading the text about the three states of the Church, I have been thoroughly enlightened.

Presently, as a part of the Church Militant, I should do my best to fight off the devil’s temptation and live on the will of God. I should battle, not only the external persuasion of the devil, but also the conflict inside of me. And while I’m on my struggle against spiritual warfare, I would live a good life as a Christian and server of God.

The Church Suffering, on the other hand, was somehow a big revelation to me. I always thought that purgatory was for souls who are lost or who have been given a place nowhere among hell or heaven and they can’t leave the place and they will go wandering around the Earth. But I was wrong. The purgatory is a place for the Christian sinners to repent for their sins and purify themselves through temporal punishment before entering heaven.

The last among the states of Church is the Church Triumphant, which I think is the best and has strengthen my faith more. It’s good to know that after death, there’s a good place awaiting for us. A place where people rejoice and praise God’s goodness and holiness. It’s comparable, or greater even, to a very beautiful paradise and being one of the Churches who live there might be overwhelming. Thus, I will lead a good Christian life to be in a state of grace and have a beatific vision.

I became more interested in the topic of Catholic Ecclesiology, where Sir Karlo discussed it online. Because it was included here the 3 spheres of angels and their roles. When I was a kid my friend told me that we have angels but I didn’t believe her because I can’t even see an angel. But when Sir Karlo discussed it to us I understand how the angels protecting us. My faith as a Christian awakened when I understood how God is protecting us together with the angels. Like the guardian angels who are protecting us from chaos and wars.

As we discussed about the Catholic Ecclesiology, it gave me the opportunity to widen my knowledge about the catholic church. I have learned about the history of angels specifically there spheres and everything that is needed to know about them. Fron there i was able to put in mind their roles in heaven i was also able to know my own angel. But what struck me the most in the lesson is when he discussed each roles of the angels and how the angels helped and guide each one of us as we face challenges in life. He also gave us life lessons and motivated us as we face new chapters of our lives. This lesson made me realize that God is really powerful and Merciful. It strengthened my relationship in God in a way that we should always trust in his ways. Without him we wouldn’t be where we are right now. He not only guides and protects us but also sends out angels to make sure thay we are safe from harm.

I felt very enlightened because I get to learn things about Catholic Ecclesiology because it’s not something we heard of everyday. I get to learn more about the Christian Church, Heaven, and the Angels. So many of these things I haven’t heard before like the Church Penitent, Church Expectant, and Church Triumphant so it feels good because I get to learn more about my own religion.

I was reminded that I should always do my best in Church Militant for I able be a part of Church Triumphant. Being in Church Militant, I should always do what is right and fight against evil. I should be a mission ready soldier of Christ. And pray for our brothers and sister in Church Suffering. I was once remember that I should also pray for our brothers and sisters in Church Suffering and when they finally be part of Church Triumphant, they will pray for us also for us able to be guided and part of Church Triumphant when we die. And if we already belong to Church Triumphant, there’s nothing else we should do than to worship our one God. And pray for our brothers and sisters in Church Militant. These things reminded me that in everything I do, we should pray for one another and help each other to be part of Church Triumphant.

I might have had a little idea about ecclesiology because it was discussed to us when I was in grade 10. But what shocked me was that you can actually impure yourself from your sins in Church Penitent and join the Church Triumphant after. That was what awakened my faith, because I can still release myself from the sins that holds me back today. I always thought that when I die, I will never get the chance to prove myself that I am worthy of forgiveness. But now that I have learnt this, I now have the faith that I can and I will be pure once again.

I was really amazed and interested to the topic that Sir Karlo discussed. I was enlightened to the topic that about Angels, because when I was a kid my mommy told me that I have my own guardian Angel and that guardian angel will guide me and lead me to the right path. And by the discussion of Karlo about the Angels  I became more Interested and impressed to the Christian teachings. that we always should keep on our mind that God is always there for us, that He will provide everything for us and He will save us through the Help of our Guardian Angel.

Never tayong pababayaan ng panginoon at never niya tayong hahayang magisa.

I learned a lot and gained knowledge about lesson discussed. My eyes were opened by the things that wasn’t so familiar with and to be honest, I had no idea what it is before. I understood that God will never abandon us even in our lowest times. We are the ones who make the path that we are going to take but keep in mind that we will return to God again. While we are all still alive, we have time to change for the better in the right path so let’s not waste that opportunity. We are already blessed to experience life and be created by our loving father.

But after this lesson, i have learned that being a church triumphant you are able to vorrect everything you did wrong from the past.

For me, my reaction and comment about Catholic Ecclesiology when sir Karlo discussed and explain clearly to us, of course it was great and glad to know about the angels purpose and their works and also the different kind of catholic ecllesiology churches etc. It also enlightened my spirit and open my heart, and reminds me as a Christian how life is wonderful. I’m so amazed also to know the angels and their rules and works in heaven, and to know also my guardian angel who is their for me. And I believe all lessons in CLE is worth it and meaningful and I declare for myself that this would be the best subject in first sem , and I felt excite to know more about CLE and I wish sir Karl will handle again. Last Monday, we discussed about the angels (their classifications and their tasks), why Our Father is a perfect prayer, the 7 petitions in the Lord’s Prayer and the Catholic Ecclesiology. I was enlightened and amazed because I was able to learn all of those interesting things. Also, I was able to learn that your guardian angel was given to you at the day that you were born. But the part of the lesson that awakened my faith as a Christian was the 7 petitions in the Lord’s Prayer because it was discussed here the every part and meaning of Our Father. This part really reminded me that we should not ask for more and we should love Him with all of our hear, soul and mind because God is everything that we need and without Him, we are nothing.

In the Catholic’s context, the discussion last monday strengthens the foundations of faith of a Christian and his/her view about the life of a Christian. Considering that practicing faith, such as simply praying, is the truth upon us for our entrance in the Holy Land. By praying, it isn’t just for himself and his/her benefits but also to those who needed, such as the people who are in the process of purging. Based on the discussion, it is vital to not to forget about God, who created us all, a God that is always there to help us to be our better selves. We should be consistent in our prayers to keep us in tacked to our faith. Ceniza, Daivee V. HUMSS 1801

When we discuss about this, I realized a lot. When I was a little girl, naniniwala na talaga ako sa mga Anghel, palaging sabi saakin ng parents ko, wag na wag raw akong gagawa ng mali, ng kasalanan, maging kind raw ako sa mga tao dahil inililista raw ito ng Angel ko at isusumbong kay Lord. But when we discuss about it, there’s a lot of Angel’s but it has different functions, doon ko lang nalaman at bago lang saakin. Manalig tayo at maniwala. I know that God never leave us. Be thankful & Pray.

I was awakened to the part where Christian Church itself is divided into certain spheres. It gave impact to my curiosity about the Catholic Ecclesiology because I didn’t know much about the lesson. But when I red the article I was awakened to the different spheres: the church triumphant means “exulting, rejoicing exceedingly”, the church suffering means “repenting, being sorry”, and the church militant meaning of “being a soldier, performing military service”. I also learned in the article that the study shows a progressive developmet or a progressive change over a period of time.

The part where we talked about the Church Suffering made me realize that people should learn how to ask for forgiveness not forgiveness of one another but forgiveness also from God. As long as we are alive we should do what is right in the eyes of God, repent and ask for forgiveness if we have didn’t obey his commandments.

I Was amazed bt the Church Suffering because before, I was always curious about what will happen if a person dies? What is purgatory? What happens in purgatory? And if Purgatory is real. After reading the Article I was enlightened to know that a person still can proceed to heaven even after all the sins he/she has done. Then I understand the true meaning of Church Penitent or Church suffering. It is just temporary consequences for the sins they have done.
According to another article that I read from Mannion F. (n.d.) Purgatory is not a kind of temporary hell. In purgatory, all those — whether Christian or not — who have reached the gates of death without reaching
the full perfection of life represented in Christ are cleansed in a kind of ongoing baptism and are purified by the enlightening fire of the Holy Spirit. The suffering of purgatory is not one of destruction, but the suffering that comes from leaving the old self behind and taking on the new.

I was surprised while discussing the catholic ecclesiology mainly because I expected that aspect of the church to bw something simple and that there’s not much to read and discuss into it. To my surprise, it turns out that it’s actually complicated and in depth that serves a particular purpose, function and reason. I’m glad that I was able to rise up to the opportunity of knowing about it and adding up to my knowledge and intellect. The part that woke up a part of me, although I am not a Christian, is the division of the heavens, the mere idea of its existence and specification made me want to be more aware topics relating these.

I was astonished when catholic ecclesiology was discussed to us because I didn’t have enough knowledge about all the catholic stuff. Also, I felt goosebumps because what if all of this was true and there are purgatory? what willl happen to our souls when we died? what place are we in? Will we still be heaven after all the sins that we have or we will be in hell? I was enlightened and I actually didn’t know that there is a lot to learn from this, I just thought that there is just heaven, hell, angels and demons but there is more to it that everyone should be aware of.

As a part of church militant and being a soldier of God, our mission is we must do our best to fight against sin and evil tempations so that we don’t suffer and to be able to be part of the church triumphant, heaven where we rejoice eternally with the glory of God.

This lesson taught me the different church in catholic church. As a member of the religion roman catholic, i am so amazed because i didn’t know that there are different divisions of church which made me think the truth about our church.

First is about the Church Suffering i was wondering if this is true. The feeling of being in church of suffering made me think of what if i experience like that after death. This is the hardest part because you are already dead but you are experiencing this kind of purgatory, but if you put God on your mind first you’ll be safe.
Second is the Church Militant, After death i know God will guide me through this because of i dont think i can live my whole spiritual life here. I have to be strong and have a strong faith to God.
    and the last is,
Church Triumphant even if you already did a many sins God will always love you, you deserve a better, quite and peaceful place because God will never bring you down. God will never forget you. Because he loves you.

This lesson awakened my faith as a chrisitian because if you believe and trust God you will never experience the hardest part of your life. this also taught me and realized that there are divisions of church that we should know because we didn’t know what will happen to us after we died.

This part are those christians on earth who are engaged in spiritual warfare against sin that when they die they might enter heaven and join the church triamphant, it made me realized that there is a good place waiting for us. I also learned about the purgatory where people suffer from their sins, that i though it was just a catholic thing, but my instinctions is wrong. All in all, I became more interested to the christian teachings, that God is really an amazing God. That He design all of these divisions for all of us, not to separate each of us but being united as one on His glory and in heaven.

The lesson about Catholic Ecclesiology got me and I came to know God better. I learned that God will never abandon us especially if we are gone, we think there is nothingness that can really come close to forgetting that God is always there for us. I have also learned that we do not just pray when we ask God but we also pray sincerely to give thanks for the daily life he provides. I realized that even though we have sinned against God may times, he can still forgive us for our sins, but if we commit those sins over and over again, we must learn to seek forgiveness from the God. Always remember that God will never abandon us and he will never leave us alone.

This discussion about Catholic Ecclesiology taught me that if you really want to go to heaven you must follow Him and nalaman ko rin na before ka maka enter sa heaven, may punishment and process of purging na nangyayari. It feels great because i gain new knowledge and all new to me. I was also enlightened na may mga divisions and three states of church. Because of this lesson, I already know that God wont allow us to suffer and He will guide us throughout our journey in this world.

I was amazed and i got enlightened about Catholic Ecclesiology. Life after death has always been running in my mind and curious about What would happen if a person die? As a roman catholic it gain me more knowledge about our church and to be more faithful to God. After reading the Article, i got to know the three different spheres that have different kinds of angels that made me amazed. In Church Suffering, i learned that the souls who had sinned, stay in purgatory and they have to repent for their sins so that they can enter heaven. As a part of Church Militant, we should fight the evil doings of the devils. Last is the Church Triumphant that caught my attention and strengthen my faith with God. Because after death i know that all souls have a place where we rejoice and gloryfying God in his kingdom. No matter what happen i know that there’s an angel and speacially God who guide and protect us in everything we do and God always have a better plans waiting for us.

The lesson about catholic ecclesiology made me more aware about life after death, since it’s always been at the back of my mind. I keep on wondering “what will happen to us after we die?”.
Gaining knowledge about the three states of the Church answered that question. As a part of Church Militant I need to do my best to fight against evil things and live on the will of God, it is clear to me that as early as now, by doing good deeds and the will of God will save us from going to hell, but of course we are just mere humans we are prone to temptations and commit mistake, therefore, after we die we became part of the Church Suffering, facing the consequences of the sins we have done in this material world. And after that we finally became part of The Church Triumphant, where we can rejoice eternally in the glory of God.

Our life here on earth will never be easy and there will always be temptations around us, but we must still do our best to fight against evil things and do things in the will of God.

The concept of death never fails to intrigue me in so many ways. For we, humans, do not really know what will happen to us after death.

The concepts of the church triumphant and church suffering are what triggered my interest the most. Just the thought that we can either go to heaven and be with our creator eternally or be in the purgaroty to receive the righful punishment for our sins, disturbs me in so many ways. I’ve learned the value of living a life like-Christ. For living for the glory of God alone and loving our neighbors as much as we love ourselves, will serve as our gate pass to heaven.

My faith was awakened after knowing the three division of Christian Church.

For the concept of Church militant, I was reminded once again that we are the soldiers of God here on earth. For we face tons of battles with the demons that try to waver our faith in God and steal us from his presence and loving grace. Aside from this, I was also reminded that we should be strong, because we will face endless trials, for as long as we live here on earth, Satan would never stop from testing our faith. But once again, when we remain faithful and truthful to God’s words, it would be worth it. For he will welcome us in heaven, with open arms, saying “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

I was really amazed and enlightened after listening then I learned a lot of things about catholic ecclesiology. It is because to be honest even if I’m a Roman Catholic I didn’t know that there’s so many types of churches. After knowing the different types of churches its so interesting to learn dig deeper about it. The church of suffering is the part of the lesson that awakened my faith it is because I’m always asking myslef that I’ve so many sinned so that I will go to the purgatory? But I’m wrong about this, purgatory is a place for the Christian sinners for them to process of purging their imperfections before entering heaven. So that I realized that God is so very powerful because even though we’re so many sins He always gave us chances for us to changed and to do the right thing.

Honestly, the whole discussion caught my attention. It was interesting for me for it has the afterlife theme of people. It was really amazing that all this time I am actually a church militant. The divisions of the church was mindblowing, I didn’t even know it was existing or there was something like that before. The divisions are so precise and very surreal. The divisions made me realize even more that God never lets anyone down or wander in nothingness. There is always chance for everyone to repent even at our death. The loving grave of Him is ever present anywhere and any time. The discussion about angels was really interesting too. The spheres were really amazing. I dont know why I keep relating the lesson to words “amazing” and “interesting” but it was really the effect on me. I was amazed and interested and I still am. The lesson really cured my misconceptions about some things in general. I could not lie, I may be a Catholic for almost a decade now but there are still things I am not aware of.

The lesson about Catholic Ecclesiology is really interesting even though i’m not a Roman Catholic. Since the start of our first lesson in CLE I always want to know a lot more about others religion. This topic opened up my mind that there is such thing as purgatory, that we people of the earth mind end up going to heaven or hell. I’ve also learned that we people are always one when we are praying and we need to pray for each other. The different angels in the spheres shows that they have different roles protecting everyone in this world. This lesson awakaned my faith, to give and trust everything to the Lord, because he uses his angels to protect each of us. Also we should repent our sins to be in the glory place with Jesus. Learning about other religion is always interesting.

Upon in this discussion, this topic gave me a deeper knowledge about the catholic church and ofcourse its beliefs. Learning about ecclesiology gave me another perspective on how our after life runs on the other side, my thoughts and question about the after life became clearer. I have noticed that even after death, there will still be a long process to be united with the Lord, there are a lot of barriers before we reach the heavens and we are all soldiers fighting against sin to become near our Him.

My favorite part of the lesson was knowing Church Triumphant and its different spheres, Church Suffering (Purgatory), and Church Militant. I enjoyed learning about these and the different spheres where there are Nine choirs of Angels, i also had fun learning the different purposes of the angels. The part that enlightened me was when I knew that there are different angels for different occasions and different events. I also learned why Catholics pray for their deceased loved one and why they pray for each other, because of the souls that wanders in the Church Suffering or simply known as Purgatory.

When it comes to the topic “Catholic” I’m so very interested because I want to know more about catholic, This article awakes me to know more about catholic church learning that there are different types of Christian church which is The Church Triumphant, The Church Suffering and The Church Militant, which tell me to always do my best in the church of triumphant, The church suffering tells me to be ready for the punishments in heaven and lastly the church militant tells me to be ready for being a soldier of God to fight against the evil. The Christians separated from each other but they unite in the church and support each other in prayer. As a catholic, it realizes me more to love our Lord God why? Because we never know if we are going to hell or heaven, other says if you love God more the angles will bring you to Him.

As I read this article, the first thing that came to my mind is how wide and knowledgable Catholic Ecclesiology is. This article really showed me that there are more details that are intriguing in the Catholic Church. The divisions made me realized that even though there are boundaries, God will never forsake us and will love us for who we are. His love is always equal for us all. We just have to put ourselves onto Him and remain our faith strong to Him. He will do all things for us. God forgives us even if we sin all the time. He will never leave us broken but instead He will fix every challenges you face or will face in the future. He’s always there to listen so if you commited a sin, even if it’s a minor sin, all you have to do is repent. God’s holiness and love is what we need to bind us all. Infact, it is said in the article that Christians pray for each other. Lastly, all I have to say is even if we are divided, through God we are united. I may not be catholic but it’s interesting to learn about the Catholic Church. I have learned so much about this topic. It was interesting and fascinating to see another point of view and it made an impact to my life.

As I read the article I was enlightened that there are three division for the Christian Church. The article also stated the Catholic Ecclesiology is the study of the nature of the Christian church. While reading the article I discovered that The three divisions are Triumph, Suffering, and Militant. It says that The Church Triumph is for rejoicing the Glory Of God. The Church suffering is for repenting of sins. The Church Militant is for serving Christ. The one that caught my attention was thar even if there are three divisions it is still united. The Church is where we seek guidance, confess our sins, and where we Glorify the Goodness of God. After reading the article I realized that even after death, God can give you an eternal life. We just need to continue to believe and be faithful to God.

I’m not really that religious so it’s suprising to know that there’s a study of the catholic church called catholic ecclesiology. As what I’ve understand, the church is divided into three parts: Church Millitant which is those christians who fight evil; Church Penitent is those who repent to be able to enter heaven; Church Triumphant are those who’ll rejoice in the glory of God. It’s good to know this kind of things because I’ve always been curious about my religion. So it’s nice that there’s an additional thing I’ve learned.

The Study of Ecclesiology is intriguing in that it raises a division that swells through the very texture of Christianity. Ecclesiology is the part of religious philosophy that manages the investigation of the congregation. What is the congregation? What are its capacities? Is it obvious, imperceptible, or both? These are questions that are regularly examined in the field, however the base of Ecclesiology is the Greek word ekklesia. At the point when this word is converted into our own language we get “church”

Theological study of the Catholic Church, its nature and organization as portrayed in revelation or philosophy is known as ecclesiology.  So basically The Christian church is divided into different parts The first one being the Church Militant “It is made up of Christians on Earth who battle as Christ’s warriors against sin, the devil, and “the rulers of this dark world.” The second category is Church Penitents, often known as Church Suffering. It primarily comprises of Christians who are currently in Purgatory.  Finally, there is the Church Triumphant, which is made up of people who have the center of attraction and are in Heaven. So all of these aspects are referred to as Catholic ecclesiology, and they are frequently debated in theology of the communion of saints. All three categories of Catholic ecclesiology, the Church Militant, Penitent and Triumphant, are interrelated as part of a holistic vision of Christian belief and practice
